A method for treating all types of lithium anode batteries and cells via a hydrometallurgical process at room temperature. Said method is used to treat, under safe conditions, cells and batteries including a metallic lithium anode or an anode containing lithium incorporated in an anode inclusion compound, whereby the metallic casings, the electrode contacts, the cathode metal oxides and the lithium salts can be separated and recovered.

Le procédé de traitement permet de traiter dans des conditions sûres les piles et les batteries comprenant une anode à base de lithium métallique ou lithium inséré dans un composé d~insertion anodique permettant ainsi la séparation et la récupération des enveloppes métalliques, des contacts d~électrodes, des oxydes métalliques de cathode et les sels de lithium.
