ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The hollow body is embedded in spherical powder particles of donor metal and is subjected to tumbling motion about several spatial axes to fill its cavities. When the powder pack coating process has been completed, the cavities are cleared of the powder particles by means of a gas stream. The method is suitable especially for coating engine blades having cooling ducts and cooling air holes.
