Novel method for the preparation of pearls from a compound with an undefined crystallization point having fast and/or sustained release properties. The invention also concerns pearls obtained by said method. The method involves feeding into a prilling tower feed container an active ingredient with an undefined melting point and a crystallization excipient, passing the mixture through a vibrating nozzle to form pearls which then fall into the tower countercurrent to the cold air, providing at the base of the tower a fluidized bed whose temperature is held above the glass transition temperature of the active ingredient with an undefined melting point and below the temperature of the start of liquefaction of the excipient.

La présente invention concerne un nouveau procédé de préparation de perles d'un composé présentant un point de cristallisation non défini présentant un profil de libération rapide et/ou prolongée. Elle concerne également les perles obtenues par le procédé. Le procédé consiste à introduire dans un récipient d'alimentation d'une tour de "prilling" le principe actif présentant un point de fusion non défini et un excipient de cristallisation, à passer le mélange à travers une buse vibrée pour former les perles que l'on laisse tomber dans la tour à contre courant avec de l'air froid, à adjoindre en bas de la tour un lit fluidisé dont la température est maintenue en dessus de la température de transition vitreuse du principe actif présentant un point de fusion non défini et en dessous de la température du début de liquéfaction de I 'excipient.
