A method is provided for exfoliation of carbon nanotubes and for the preparation of a stable aqueous suspension thereof containing dispersed, essentially single tubes, using a water-soluble polymeric material. A powder of carbon nanotubes is further provided, that can be re-dispersed to form a stable suspension. Said nanotubes can be used in electronics, printing, coatings, thin layers, molecular machines, and for the production of composite materials.

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant l'exfoliation de nanotubes de carbone et l'élaboration d'une suspension aqueuse stable contenant en dispersion essentiellement des monotubes, par utilisation d'un matériau polymère hydrosoluble. L'invention concerne également une poudre de nanotubes de carbone qui peut être re-dispersée pour former une suspension stable. Ces nanotubes conviennent pour l'électronique, l'impression, les enduits, les couches fines, les machines moléculaires, et pour la production de matériaux composites.
