Method for the production of L,L-, D,D-, D,L- and meso-dilactides, comprising the polycondensation and/or polytransesterification of an L-, D- or D,L-lactic acid or of esters thereof to polyesters of higher molecular weights of the L-, D- and D,L- lactic acid (polylactic acids) and cyclizing depolymerization of the polylactic acids to dilactides, wherein the polyesters of higher molecular weights of the L-, D- and D,L-lactic acids are produced in the presence of hydrolysis-stable metal compounds as catalyst.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de L,L-, D,D-, D,L- ou méso-dilactide, consistant en la polycondensation et/ou la polytransestérification de l'acide L-, D- ou D,L-lactique ou d'esters de l'acide L-, D- ou D,L-lactique en vue d'obtenir des polyesters de haut poids moléculaire de l'acide L-, D- ou D,L-lactique (acides polylactiques) et en la cyclodépolymérisation des acides polylactiques en vue d'obtenir les dilactides, les polyesters de haut poids moléculaire de l'acide L-, D- ou D,L-lactique étant obtenus en présence de composés métalliques, stables à l'hydrolyse, comme catalyseur.
