The invention relates to a method for producing a rim hole (20, 26, 30) in hollow profiles (1), wherein a tubular piece (9) in pushed into the hollow profile (1) and is placed therein in such a way that it coaxially encompasses the spot of the rim hole (20, 26, 30) to be produced. The hollow profile (1) is then impinged upon from the outside towards the inside in said spot by means of a tool thus forming the rim hole (20, 26, 30). In order to make it possible to produce a rim hole (20, 26, 30) in hollow profiles (1) in a relatively easy manner, wherein said rim hole complies with high rigidity requirements even if the wall thickness of the hollow profile (1) is small, two opposite holes (8) are initially punched out from the hollow profile (1), at least one of said holes having a diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the rim hole (20, 26, 30) to be produced. The tubular piece (9) is then inserted into the interior (17) of the hollow profile so that it comes to rest coaxially in relation to the common axis (10) of the holes (8). The hollow profile material of the hollow profile section (18, 23, 29) located between the edge (12) of the hole and the inner side (16) of the tubular piece (9) is drawn in until it rests flatly on the inner side (16) of the tubular piece (9) in the interior (17) of the hollow profile using at least one punching tool (7, 13).
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire un passage (20, 26, 30) dans des profilés creux (1), une pièce tubulaire (9) étant insérée dans un profilé creux (1) et placée dans celui-ci de façon à entourer coaxialement l'emplacement du passage (20, 26, 30) à produire. Puis, le profilé creux (1) est soumis à l'action d'un outil, de l'extérieur vers l'intérieur, au niveau dudit emplacement, de manière à former le passage (20, 26, 30). L'objectif de cette invention est de pouvoir produire, relativement facilement, dans des profilés creux (1), un passage (20, 26, 30) qui soit conforme à des exigences de rigidité élevées même s'il présente une faible épaisseur de paroi. A cet effet, le procédé de production selon l'invention consiste : à découper à la matrice deux trous opposés (8) dans le profilé creux (1), au moins un de ces trous présentant un diamètre inférieur au diamètre du passage (20, 26, 30) à produire ; à insérer la pièce tubulaire (9) à l'intérieur (17) du profilé creux (1), de façon qu'elle y repose coaxialement par rapport à l'axe commun (10) desdits trous (8), et ; à tirer le matériau de la section de profilé creux (18, 23, 29) se trouvant entre le bord (12) des trous et la face interne (16) de la pièce tubulaire (9) jusqu'à ce qu'il repose de manière plane sur la face interne (16) de la pièce tubulaire (9), à l'intérieur (17) du profilé creux (17), au moyen d'au moins un poinçon (7, 13).
