A method for the production of aliphatic fluoroformates, wherein carbonyl fluoride is made to react with aliphatic alcohol in the presence of sodium fluoride in ether at a temperature of -20· to 50 ·C. The method is carried out using carbonyl fluoride obtained by reacting phosgene with surplus powdered sodium fluoride, whereby the grains thereof have a specific surface of 0.1 m?2¿/g or more and/or an average diameter of 20µm or less, at a temperature ranging from 25· to 120 ·C. The method enables unstable fluoroformates such as tertiobutyl to be obtained with excellent yields.

Le procédé de préparation des fluoroformiates aliphatiques selon l'invention consiste à faire réagir le fluorure de carbonyle avec un alcool aliphatique en présence de fluorure de sodium dans un éther à une température de -20~ à 50 ~C. En particulier, le procédé est réalisé avec le fluorure de carbonyle obtenu par réaction du phosgène avec un excès de fluorure de sodium en poudre dont les grains ont une surface spécifique supérieure ou égale à 0,1 m2/g et/ou un diamètre moyen inférieur ou égal à 20 µm, à une température comprise entre 25~ et 120 ~C. Le procédé permet d'obtenir les fluoroformiates instables tel que le fluoroformiate de tertiobutyle avec d'excellents rendements.
