The invention relates to a method for the production of .alpha.-(3-arylthio)- acetophenones of general formula (I), wherein the substituents R1 and R2 independently represent C1-C6-alkyl, SiR33, and the substituent R3 represents a C1-C6-alkyl radical, or an optionally substituted phenyl or benzyl radical.The invention is characterised in that acetophenons of general formula (II), wherein the substitutent X represents Cl or Br, is reacted in methanol with a thiolate of general formula (III) wherein M represents an alkali metal.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour réaliser des alpha-(3-arylthio)-acétophénones de formule (I), dans laquelle les substituants R?1¿ et R?2¿ signifient indépendamment l'un de l'autre alkyle C¿1?-C¿6?, SiR?3¿¿3?, le substituant R?3¿ désignant un groupe alkyle C¿1?-C¿6?, ou bien un reste phényle ou benzyle éventuellement substitué. L'invention est caractérisée en ce que l'on met à réagir des acétophénones de formule (II), où le substituant X représente Cl ou Br, avec un thiolate de formule (III), où M désigne un métal alcalin, dans du méthanol.
