The present invention provides methods for the isolation of a new group of actinomycetes and for the identification of members of this group based on characteristic nucleotide sequences and phylogenetic analyses. This group is phylogenetically distinct from all other known actinomycetes and represents a novel genus that includes multiple new species. Members of this group can be recognized by signature MAR2 nucleotides present in their 16S rRNA gene sequences and by standard phylogenetic treeing methods.

La présente invention concerne des méthodes destinées à isoler un nouveau groupe d'actinomycètes et à identifier des membres de ce groupe sur la base de séquences nucléotidiques caractéristiques et d'analyses phylogénétiques. Ce groupe est phylogénétiquement distinct de tous les actinomycètes connus et représente un nouveau genre qui comprend plusieurs nouvelles espèces. Des membres de ce groupe peuvent être identifiés par les nucléotides MAR2 de signature présents dans leurs séquences génétiques ARNr16S, ou par des méthodes classiques de création d'arborescence phylogénétique.
