A method for the production of cyclopentanone consisting at least of the following steps: (i) - (iii): (i) provision of a mixture G(i) containing cyclopentene; (ii) provision of liquid or supercritical N2O or a liquefied or supercritical gas mixture G(ii), containing at least 20 % N2O by volume, in relation to the overall volume of the mixture G(ii); (iii) bringing the mixture G(i) into contact with the liquid supercritical N2O or liquefied or supercritical gas mixture G(ii) in order to obtain a mixture G(iii), containing cyclopentanone, characterized in that the mixture G(i) contains at least 25 % and at the most 95 % cyclopentene by weight, in relation to the total weight of the mixture G(i).

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de cyclopentanone, comprenant au moins les étapes (i) à (iii) qui consistent : (i) à fournir un mélange G(i) contenant du cyclopentène ; (ii) à fournir du N2O fluide ou surcritique ou un mélange gazeux liquéfié ou surcritique G(ii) contenant au moins 20 % en volume de N2O, par rapport au volume total du mélange G(ii) ; (iii) à mettre en contact le mélange G(i) avec le N2O fluide ou surcritique ou ledit mélange gazeux liquéfié ou surcritique G(ii), pour obtenir un mélange G(iii) qui contient de la cyclopentanone. Le procédé selon l'invention est caractérisé en ce que le mélange G(i) contient au moins 25 % en poids et au plus 95 % en poids de cyclopentène, par rapport au poids total du mélange G(i).
