The invention relates to a method for producing hydrotalcites, using at least one compound of a divalent metal (component A) and at least one compound of a trivalent metal (component B), at least one of the two components not being used in its dissolute form. The inventive method is characterized by a) subjecting a least one of the components A and/or B that are not used in its dissolute form shortly before or during mixing of the components, and/or b) the mixture containing components A and B to an intensive grinding step until an average particle size (D50) of approximately 0.1 to 5 µm is reached, and, optionally after an aging treatment or hydrothermal treatment, removing, drying and optionally calcinating the hydrotalcite product so obtained. The amorphous hydrotalcite precursors or finely divided crystalline hydrotalcites obtained by the inventive method are especially useful as catalysts or catalyst supports, or as nanocomposite fillers or co-stabilizers in a polymer matrix.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'hydrotalcites, qui implique l'utilisation d'au moins un composé d'un métal bivalent (composant A) et d'au moins un composé d'un métal trivalent (composant B), au moins un des composants mentionnés n'étant pas utilisé sous la forme d'une solution. Ce procédé se caractérise en ce que l'on soumet à un broyage intensif, jusqu'à obtention d'une taille moyenne de particule (D¿50?) d'environ 0,1 à 5 µm a) au moins celui des composants A et/ou B non utilisé en tant que solution juste avant ou pendant le mélange des composants, et/ou b) le mélange contenant les composants A et B, et en ce que, éventuellement après un traitement de vieillissement ou après un traitement hydrothermal, on sépare l'hydrotalcite obtenu, on le sèche et, éventuellement on le calcine. Les précurseurs d'hydrotalcite amorphes ou les hydrotalcites cristallins en fines particules pouvant être obtenus selon le procédé présenté peuvent être utilisés en particulier comme catalyseurs ou supports de catalyseurs, ou bien comme matières de charge nanocomposites ou costabilisateurs dans une matrice polymère.
