ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A new method for the production of O-substituted hydroxylamines having the formula NH2-O-R is disclosed, wherein R = C1-C6 alkyl or alkenyl, straight-chain or branched, or benzyl. Hydroxylamine-O-sulfonic acid is reacted with alkali alkoxide in the presence of a polar aprotic solvent. This method provides the advantage of increased yield, while minimizing the dangers associated with the presence of explosive materials.
