The invention relates to a method for producing polyunsaturated fatty acids in an organism by introducing nucleic acids coding for polypeptides with acyl- CoA:lysophospholipid-acyl transferase activity into the organism. Advantageously, said nucleic acid sequences can optionally be expressed in the transgenic organism along with additional nucleic acid sequences coding for polypeptides of fatty acid metabolism or lipid metabolism biosynthesis. The invention also relates to the nucleic acid sequences, nucleic acid structures containing said nucleic acid sequences, vectors containing the inventive nucleic acid sequences, and/or the nucleic acid structures and transgenic organisms containing said nucleic acid sequences, nucleic acid structures, and/or vectors. The invention further relates to oils, lipids, and/or fatty acids that are produced according the inventive method, and the use thereof.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire des acides gras polyinsaturés dans un organisme, procédé selon lequel des acides nucléiques codant des polypeptides qui présentent l'activité des acyl-CoA:lysophospholipid-acyltransférases sont introduits dans l'organisme. De préférence, ces séquences d'acides nucléiques peuvent être exprimées dans l'organisme transgénique, éventuellement avec d'autres séquences d'acides nucléiques qui codent des polypeptides impliqués dans le processus de biosynthèse du métabolisme des acides gras ou des lipides. Cette invention se rapporte également à des séquences d'acides nucléiques, à des constructions d'acides nucléiques contenant ces séquences d'acides nucléiques, à des vecteurs comportant lesdites séquences d'acide nucléiques et/ou constructions d'acides nucléiques, ainsi qu'à des organismes transgéniques comportant ces séquences d'acides nucléiques, constructions d'acides nucléiques et/ou vecteurs. La présente invention concerne en outre des huiles, lipides et/ou acides gras produit(e)s au moyen dudit procédé, ainsi que leur utilisation.
