Le remplacement se fait selon une méthode de reconstruction diminuant substantiellement les chances d'électrocution des travailleurs oeuvrant à sa réalisation. La méthode consiste à enlever l'ancienne chambre et la remplacer par une chambre préfabriquée, montée section par section. Une partie substantielle des travaux peut être faite sans que des travailleurs aient à descendre dans l'excavation.
