The invention relates to a method for the simultaneous determination of the distance and the speed of a target, particularly an aircraft, with the aid of a radar system that operates according to the DPRF method. The received signal, which essentially corresponds to the transmitted signal reflected at the target, is evaluated in the Doppler domain and the group delay of the target spectrum is determined therefrom. The distance of the moving target is then determined from the group delay.
