PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L' invention concerne un procédé de symétrisation du champ magnétique vertical dans les cuves d'électrolyse ignée placées en travers. On dispose, sous chaque tête des cuves, une boucle de compensation produisant un champ magnétique vertical supplé- mentaire, sensiblement égal au champ magnétique vertical moyen de la cuve sur son petit côté, et de sens contraire, et on fait passer dans chacune de ces boucles au moins une fraction du courant qui parcourt le collecteur négatif amont. Application aux séries de cuves d'électrolyse ignée, à haute intensité, pour la production d'aluminium.
