The present application discloses a process for the synthesis of a sucrose-6-ester comprising: (a) forming a first reaction mixture comprising sucrose, a polar aprotic solvent, and an organotin-based acylation promoter; (b) removal of water from said first reaction mixture by contacting, in a continuous counter-current manner, with gas or solvent vapour capable of removing water at a temperature, pressure and residence time sufficient to afford a second reaction mixture which is substantially free from water; followed by (c) adding a carboxylic anhydride to said second reaction mixture to afford a third reaction mixture, and maintaining said third reaction mixture at a temperature and for a period of time sufficient to produce a sucrose-6-ester. The sucrose-6-ester can be used to make sucralose.
L'invention concerne un procédé de synthèse de sucrose-6-esters. Ce procédé consiste à : (a) former un premier mélange réactionnel comprenant du sucrose, un solvant aprotique polaire, et un promoteur d'acylation à base d'organotine; (b) supprimer l'eau du premier mélange réactionnel par mise en contact, en contre-courant continuel, avec un gaz ou une vapeur de solvant permettant de supprimer l'eau à une température, une pression et une durée de rétention suffisantes pour obtenir un deuxième mélange réactionnel sensiblement exempt d'eau; puis (c) ajouter un anhydride carboxylique au deuxième mélange réactionnel pour obtenir un troisième mélange réactionnel, et maintenir le troisième mélange réactionnel à une température suffisante et pendant une période suffisante pour produire un sucrose-6-ester. Le sucrose-6-ester de l'invention peut être utilisé pour produire du sucralose.
