56/DLR42 18007IA TITLE OF THE INVENTION METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF FLEAS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed a method for the treatment of infections of fleas of warm blooded animals or premise areas where fleas are found using 13-deoxy-22,23-dihydro-13.beta.-fluoro avermectin Bla/Blb aglycone, or the other 13.beta.-fluoro substituted avermectin compounds. These compounds have been found to possess a significant and surprisingly high level of activity and safety compared to closely related compounds. In addition, the compounds are surprisingly more active than the 13.alpha. stereoisomers. Methods and compositions for the use of such compounds are also disclosed.
