Disclosed is a method for treating slurries by the combined action of electro-osmosis and pressure and/or a vibrating system. According to the inventive method, at least two different effluents are drained, the first effluent which is generated at the level of the cathode having an alkaline pH while the second effluent which is generated at the level of the anode having an acidic pH.
