The aim of the invention is to provide a method for the user-controlled release of wireless telecommunications connections in wireless telecommunications systems (TKS, DIIS, RW-TTS), especially DECT systems, which is both user-friendly and -acceptable. To this end, established connections between telecommunications devices (MT, RPP, BS, RFP) which can be connected by wireless telecommunication in wireless telecommunications systems (TKS, DIIS, RW-TTS), e.g., DECT mobile units and DECT base stations in DECT systems, are released in two stages by means of operator procedures, said operator procedures differing from the procedures for establishing the connection.
