It is disclosed that in a multicast network environment individual information (10) can be transmitted via a barker channel (12) between a server (2) and an individual end-user device. In the case of digital television services the present invention enables, inter alia, individual information (10) that is addressed to a specific customer to appear on the television screen. This is accomplished by transmitting the individual information (10) via the barker channel (12) from a server (2) to the set-top box (5) via which the television is connected to the access infrastructure. It is also disclosed that an identification number (11) can be added to the individual information (10). In relation to digital television services, the present invention makes use of the insight that set-top boxes already are provided with a unique code. As a result of this, the adding to the individual information (10) of an identification number (11) that is related to the unique code of a specific set-top box (5) enables to individually address set-top boxes.
Dans un environnement réseau mutlidestinataire, des informations individuelles (10) peuvent être transmises par le biais d'une chaîne invitation (12) entre un serveur (2) et un dispositif individuel d'utilisateur final. Dans le cas de services télévisés numériques, l'invention permet notamment à des informations individuelles (10) accessibles à un client spécifique d'être affichées sur l'écran de télévision. Pour ce faire, les informations individuelles (10) sont transmises du serveur (12) au boîtier décodeur (5) par le biais de la chaîne invitation (12), la télévision étant connectée à l'infrastructure d'accès par le biais dudit boîtier décodeur (5). L'invention concerne également un numéro d'identification (11) qui peut être ajouté aux informations individuelles (10). L'invention tire profit du fait que les boîtiers décodeurs sont déjà équipés d'un code unique contrairement aux services télévisés numériques. En conséquence, l'ajout d'un numéro d'identification (11) à des informations individuelles (11) relativement au code unique d'un boîtier décodeur spécifique (5) permet un accès individuel aux boîtier décodeurs.
