The invention concerns a method for treating a supported catalyst having a sulphurous compound active base and contaminated by a mercury compound. This method consists in heating the contaminated catalyst at a temperature between 300 and 1000 ·C in an inert atmosphere. As a result of this treatment, the catalyst has the same characteristics as it had before being contaminated by mercury.

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'un catalyseur supporté présentant une phase active à base d'un composé du soufre et contaminé par un composé du mercure. Ce procédé consiste à chauffer le catalyseur contaminé à une température comprise entre 300 et 1000 ~C sous une atmosphère inerte. A l'issue de ce traitement, le catalyseur traité présente les mêmes caractéristiques qu'il possédait avant sa contamination par le mercure.
