Method for the treatment of aqueous media or effluents containing radioactive metal ions including silver, cobalt, potassium, cesium, antimony. The method reduces the ion concentration to a value by which the radiochemical activity of the aqueous media or effluents is reduced to a level less than that laid down by regulations, enabling them to be discharged. The method involves at least one first phase in which the aqueous medium is passed through a filter (1) comprising a layer of oil coke granules, whereby at least 90 % of the above-mentioned radioactive ions can be retained. If the radiochemical activity is not lowered to below the value of the rejection threshold at the end of the first stage, the aqueous medium is then subjected to a second phase in which it is passed through a second filter provided with a graphite particle lining coated with a conductive polymer layer comprising ethereal cryptating cages.
Procédé de traitement de milieux aqueux ou effluents contenant des ions métalliques radioactifs, notamment d'argent, de cobalt, de potassium, de césium, d'antimoine, en vue d'amener la concentration en ces ions à une valeur inférieure à celle à partir de laquelle l'activité radiochimique des milieux aqueux ou effluents en question est inférieure à celle fixée par la réglementation et à partir de laquelle ils peuvent donc être rejetés; ce procédé comporte au moins une première étape dans laquelle on fait passer le milieu aqueux à travers un filtre (1) comprenant une couche de granules (3) de coke de pétrole, ce grâce à quoi au moins 90 % des susdits ions radioactifs peuvent être retenus; si, à l'issue de la première étape, l'activité radiochimique n'est pas abaissée au-dessous de la valeur qui constitue le seuil de rejet, la première étape est suivie d'une deuxième étape dans laquelle on utilise un deuxième filtre comportant un garnissage de particules de graphite enrobées par une couche de polymère conducteur comprenant des cages cryptantes éthérées.
