The invention concerns a method for treating aqueous effluents containing at least one of the following ethers: ethyl-tertio-butyl ether (ETBE) and/or methyl-tertio-butyl ether (MTBE) and/or tertio amyl-methyl ether (TAME) to reduce concentration of said ethers. The method consists in: aerobic seeding of a Gordonia terrae CIP-I-2194 bacteria; adding in particular a Burkholderia cepaciP-I-2052 bacteria or an Alkaligenes sp. CIP I-2561 bacteria or a Mycobacterium sp. CIP I-2562 bacteria in the presence of a growth substrate and, optionally, a cobalt salt and in degrading the ether contained in the effluents by the seeded bacteria until it is mineralised. The invention is applicable to the industry concerned with the treatment of water polluted by ethers.
On décrit un procédé de traitement d'effluents aqueux contenant au moins un des éthers suivants, l'éthyl tertio-butyl éther (ETBE) et/ou le méthyl tertio- butyl éther (MTBE) et/ou le tertio-amyl méthyl éther (TAME) afin de réduire la concentration de ces éthers. On ensemence en condition aérobie une bactérie Gordonia terrae CIP I-2194. On ajoute notamment une bactérie Burkholderia cepacia CIP I-2052 ou une bactérie Alcaligenes sp. CIP I-2561 ou une bactérie Mycobacterium sp. CIP I-2562 en présence d'un substrat de croissance et, éventuellement, d'un sel de cobalt et on fait dégrader l'éther contenu dans les effluents par les bactéries ainsi ensemencées jusqu'à sa minéralisation. Application à l'industrie du traitement de l'eau polluée par des éthers.
