The invention concerns a method for trimming the lower structure of a piece of furniture such as a bed or a couch which consists in covering the sides of said structure with a generally rectangular elongated strip (1). The invention is characterised in that, in order to adjust the height of said strip (1) on the side, and adapt the length of said strip (1) to the size of the structure to be covered, it consists in: providing the edge of the strip upper part with at least a system of catching elements comprising a series of male or female catching elements (3) over a length of at least five centimetres, framed on each side in the strip longitudinal direction with a series of respectively matching male and female catching elements (4, 5) over a length of at least five centimetres each; locking on the structure the ends of the strip (1) and folding back the strip (1) at the system of catching devices (3, 4, 5) causing them to co-operate to form a recessed fold (6), to adjust the length of the strip (1) to the length of the structure to be trimmed, to constitute, over the length of the structure, an edge (5) urged to be supported on the top thereof, and to adjust the height of the strip (1) to the height of the structure.

Procédé de garniture de la structure inférieure d'un meuble tel qu'un lit ou un canapé dans lequel on recouvre les flancs de ladite structure avec un bandeau (1) allongé généralement rectangulaire, caractérisé en ce que, pour régler la hauteur dudit bandeau (1) sur le flanc, et adapter la longueur dudit bandeau (1) à la taille de la structure à recouvrir; on munit le bord de la partie supérieure du bandeau d'au moins un système de dispositifs d'accrochage comprenant une série de dispositifs d'accrochage (3) mâles ou femelles sur une longueur d'au moins 5 cm, encadrée de chaque côté dans la direction de la longueur du bandeau par une série de dispositifs d'accrochage (4, 5) respectivement femelles ou mâles complémentaires sur une longueur d'au moins 5 cm chacun; on bloque sur la structure les extrémités du bandeau (1) et on replie le bandeau (1) au niveau du système de dispositifs d'accrochage (3, 4, 5) en les faisant coopérer pour former un pli creux (6), pour ajuster la longueur du bandeau (1) à la longueur de la structure à habiller, pour constituer, sur la longueur de la structure, un rebord (5) venant prendre appui sur le haut de celle-ci, et pour ajuster la hauteur du bandeau (1) à la hauteur de la structure.
