A method for lining and rehabilitating underground tunnels is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of winding flexible tubes on the tunnel inner surface and filling the installed tubing with a liquid grout, which solidifies in time. The tubes can also first be filled and then installed on the tunnel inner surface, before the grout starts to solidify. The tube size and winding pitch are related to the tunnel exterior loading, but where watertightnes is required, the tube coils are to adhere tightly to each other. Use of a filling material with a limited expansion characteristic can enhance the coil adherence to each other and structural performance of the installed lining.
