A digital broadcast receiver and a method for processing a stream in a digital broadcast receiver are provided. The digital broadcast receiver includes a receiver for receiving a transport stream, a turbo decoder for detecting and turbo-decoding an additional data stream in the received transport stream, and a processor for deinterleaving and Reed-Solomon decoding the turbo-decoded additional data stream. The transport stream comprises the additional data stream, a normal data stream, known data and control information, which is information on the transport stream.
