A method for joining at least two parts made of a silicon carbide-based material by refractory brazing, wherein the parts are contacted with an intermetallic filler and the assembly of the parts and the filler is heated to a brazing temperature equal to the melting point of the filler in order to form a refractory joint. Said intermetallic filler includes 1-18 wt.% of cobalt and 82-99 wt % of silicon, and the resulting joint is a thick joint, i.e. one with a thickness generally of 0.1-0.5 mm. The resulting thick refractory joint produced according to the method is also disclosed. Assemblies of silicon carbide parts comprising thick joints produced according to the above method enable structures, apparatuses and components having complex shapes and working temperatures of up to 1000 DEG C or more to be produced with a high degree of accuracy.
La présente invention a trait à un procédé d'assemblage d'au moins deux pièces en matériaux à base de carbure de silicium par brasage réfractaire dans lequel on met en contact ces pièces avec une brasure intermétallique et on chauffe l'ensemble formé par les pièces et la brasure à une température de brasage égale à la température de fusion de la brasure afin de former un joint réfractaire caractérisé en ce que la brasure intermétallique comprend de 1 à 18 % en poids de cobalt et de 82 à 99 % en poids de silicium et en ce que le joint obtenu est un joint épais, c'est-à-dire d'une épaisseur généralement de 0,1 à 0,5 mm. L'invention a également trait au joint réfractaire et épais obtenu par ce procédé. Les assemblages de pièces en carbure de silicium comportant des joints épais préparés par le procédé selon l'invention permettent de réaliser des structures, appareils, composants de formes complexes ayant des températures d'utilisation élevées pouvant aller jusqu'à 1000 °C et même plus, avec une grande précision.
