This device allows an implicit or explicit input of destination calls on elevator installations. After a corresponding inquiry by a detector (5), an information transmitter (1) transmits data (6). This data (6) can contain direct information about the desired destination floor and/or serve as identification of the elevator user and thereby enable access to information about the destination floor which is stored in a memory (8). The memory (8) is contained in a processing unit (9) of an elevator control (10). Communication between the detector (5) and the information transmitter (1) takes place, for example, without contact. Using the received data (6) the destination floor is evaluated in the processing unit (9) and communicated to the elevator control (10). The assignment is communicated to the passenger on a display (18). The process of inputting a call takes place automatically and independent of the orientation of the information transmitter (1). To change the floor proposed by the processing unit (9) an input device (19) is provided which can also be used to choose the type of preselection of the destination floor.
