ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved water repellent cellulosic web and a method of making the same which involves treating the web with an alkyl alkoxysiloxane containing at least one methyl group and at least two lower alkoxy groups in the presence of a condensa- tion catalyst and curing the resulting treated web for a time sufficient to increase the water repellency thereof. The treat- ment can be carried out in the presence of a solvent or in the absence of a solvent. -i-
