A method for a client to locate a particular service from a service provider on wide area computer networks. The method includes multicasting of an advertisement from a service provider, which advertisement is detected by a Service Broker and in turn multicast into the wide area computer network. A client queries the networkwhen seeking a particular service and receives in turn the address of the Broker and a Server to obtain the service desired.

Méthode permettant à un client de localiser un service particulier fourni par un fournisseur de services sur des grands réseaux informatiques. La méthode fait appel à la multi-diffusion d'une publicité par un fournisseur de services. Cette publicité est détectée par un courtier de services et ensuite multi-diffusée dans le grand réseau informatique. Un client fait une demande au réseau lorsqu'il cherche un service spécial et il reçoit en retour l'adresse du courtier et d'un serveur pour obtenir le service voulu.
