ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method in the control of a paper web reel-up particu- larly in a so-called Pope-type reel-up, which reel-up comprises a reeling cylinder, by means of which power required for reeling is introduced to a reel being formed onto a reeling drum mainly by the nip between the periphery of said reeling cylinder and periphery of the reel being formed. The reeling procedure is begun in so-called primary forks or similar, from which the reel- ing cylinder and the bottom section of the reel formed on it is removed to secondary forks, on which the final steps of the reel- ing procedure are carried out. The loading of said nip is at least chiefly created by power equipment influencing said primary and secondary forks. The force of the power equipment of said forks supporting the reeling drum during the reeling procedure, which force loads said nip is adjusted by means of control sig- nals based on the position of said forks in such a way that an essentially even load distribution will come true even in the exchange step, in which the reeling drum and the reel being formed onto it is moved from the support of said primary forks to be supported by and in order to load the secondary forks.
