A method and apparatus for adaptively controlling the presence of copy protection signals in a video signal depends upon the scene content of the video signal during an upper portion of a display of the video signal. Thus, in the upper portion of the scenes, wherein picture information would be noticeably altered by a hooking process the copy protection process is deactivated or effectively reduced to eliminate or reduce the hooking or tearing effects. The adaptive control of the copy protection improves the playability performance of copy protected video signals on a very small minority of television receivers which display a small hooking or tearing characteristic in the upper portion of the display of the copy protected video signal.
L'invention porte sur un procédé, ainsi que sur le dispositif correspondant, permettant de contrôler la présence de signaux de protection contre la copie dans un signal vidéo, lequel procédé est fonction du contenu de scène du signal vidéo dans une partie supérieure de l'affichage du signal vidéo. De la sorte, dans la partie supérieure des scènes, là où la donnée d'image risquerait d'être modifiée de manière perceptible par un saut d'image, le processus de protection contre la copie est désactivé ou réellement allégé afin d'éliminer les effets de saut ou de décrochage. Ce procédé de contrôle adaptatif de la protection contre la copie permet d'améliorer les caractéristiques de jeu de signaux vidéo d'une copie protégée dans une infime minorité de récepteurs de télévision dont la partie supérieure de l'affichage du signal vidéo de la copie protégée subirait un effet de saut ou de décrochage.
