ABSTRACT Described herein is a process for affinity purification of antigens and antibodies that employs monoclonal antibodies having a high affinity for the antigen in a first environment and a low affinity in a second environment, the environments being ones in which the immunochemical properties of the antigens and antibodies are not adversely affected. Also described is a process for fractionating antisera to obtain an antibody fraction having similar antigen binding properties as exhibited by the environmentally sensitive monoclonal antibodies.
