A method and apparatus for managing a length of optical fibre (6) by housing the length of optical fibre in a duct (1), the length of optical fibre being so coiled as to extend along the duct and the length of optical fibre being connected to a plurality of fibre-joining devices (3, 5) positioned along the duct. The fibre-joining devices are contained in modules (2, 4)which are removably attached to the outer periphery of the duct.

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil qui permettent de gérer un segment de fibre optique en logeant ce segment de fibre optique dans une conduit, ledit segment de fibre optique étant enroulé de façon à s'étendre le long du conduit et ce segment de fibre optique étant raccordé à plusieurs dispositifs d'assemblage de fibres placés le long dudit conduit. Ces dispositifs d'assemblage de fibres sont contenus dans des modules qui sont fixés amovibles au pourtour externe du conduit.
