The invention concerns a method of analyzing guided optics components, optical fibres or optical guide networks by time reflectometry and a reflectometer in the time sphere. It comprises a source for transmitting a probe light signal formed of short periodic pulses, a light flow separator device for injecting the probe signal into a guide connected to the system to be analyzed and extracting a backscattered response signal, and a series of components for analyzing the backscattered response signal.
