24 ABSTRACT METHOD OF AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING SUBSTANCES TO A SURFACE The invention provides a method of and apparatus for applying two or more substanes to a surface. Aeeording to the invention a plurality of nozzle means (111, 1111) each having a plurality of aligned nozzles (113, 1131) and each connected to a different source (119) of a plurality of different substances, are controlled by control means (123, 125) to projeet droplets of the substanees onto a surface in a predetermined pattern and so that the positions on said surface occupied by one of said substances will also be occupied by another said substanee.
