- 1 - Abstract: In a method of deflecting forces, in particular loads, either a force acting on a guide surface is reduced and simultaneously deflected by a counter-force or a pressure force is allowed to act on a guide surface to produce a deflecting force. For reducing the frictional resistance of the force on a support on which it acts, this force can be reduced by a counter force and then the force can be deflected. The counter-force is produced by a diaphragm chamber or a piston. A portion of the force is deflect- ably supported on a wedge surface. This method permits an advantageous deflection of forces, in particular of loads against friction forces.
