ABSTRACT A grain dryer employs an auger assembly featuring a hol- low auger shaft through which hot water is circulated to heat the auger flighting and thus the grain. The water emerging from the auger shaft is then used to heat atmospheric air supplied by a blower, which air is then injected into the grain through a set of ports along the auger housing. The injected air entrains mois- ture expelled from the grain by the hot auger and exits from the auger housing through another set of ports along the latter.
