ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a method of and apparatus for fluidizing solid particles in such a manner that a large amount of the particles is circulated continuously within the subsequent fluidized bed. Such circulation phenomenon of the fluidized particles is provided in a new fluidized bed vessel having a lower chamber provided with a perforated plate for forming the fluidized bed, an upper chamber and an inter- mediate portion consisting of a plurality of conduits flu idly connected to both chambers. This technique may be employed effectively for catalytic reaction or sintering processes, mixing processes or drying processes of granulated particles, grain or the like, particularly for the processes requiring the transfer of a great amount of heat.
