A method of and an apparatus for making twisted electrical cable, such as 600 volt secondary distribution cable, and the twisted cable product are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a first plurality of stationary payoff reels each wound with a length of bare wire conductor. The conductors are simultaneously payed off the reels to a pay out accumulator for accumulating a portion of the conductors during replacement of spent pay out reels. At least one extrusion process arranged downstream of the accumulator applies a plastic insulation material to a respective conductor as it passes through its respective extrusion process. A cooling and/or curing trough through which water is flowed cools and/or cures the plastic insulation. A take-up accumulator arranged downstream of the cooling and/or curing trough accumulates a portion of each insulated conductor during changeover of the take-up reel arranged downstream of the take-up accumulator. The take-up reel may be rotated about a first axis to twist each insulated conductor about its longitudinal axis, and may additionally simultaneously twist the insulated conductors about one another to form a twisted electrical cable. The take-up reel may also be rotated about a second axis for taking up the twisted electrical cable.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de fabriquer un câble électrique torsadé, notamment un câble de distribution secondaire de 600 volts. L'invention concerne également le câble torsadé obtenu. Cet appareil comporte une première pluralité de bobines débitrices stationnaires, comportant chacune un conducteur à fil nu enroulé. Ces conducteurs sont simultanément transférés des bobines débitrices à un accumulateur, de sorte qu'une partie de ces conducteurs est rembobinée pendant le remplacement des bobines débitrices utilisées. Au moins un procédé d'extrusion disposé en aval de l'accumulateur permet d'appliquer une matière d'isolation plastique à un conducteur respectif au moment où ce dernier subit ce procédé d'extrusion. Un bac de refroidissement et/ou de durcissement à travers lequel on fait couler de l'eau permet de refroidir et/ou de durcir cette matière d'isolation plastique. Un accumulateur disposé en aval du bac de refroidissement et/ou de durcissement enroule une partie de chaque conducteur isolé pendant le changement de la bobine enrouleuse disposée en aval de l'accumulateur. Cette bobine enrouleuse peut tourner autour d'un premier axe afin de torsader chaque conducteur isolé en le faisant tourner autour de son axe longitudinal et peut en outre simultanément torsader les conducteurs isolés en les enroulant les uns aux autres de façon à former un câble électrique torsadé. La bobine enrouleuse peut également tourner autour d'un second axe afin d'enrouler le câble électrique torsadé.
