Abstract of the Disclosure A method and apparatus is described in which an object such as a large diameter pipe extruded from a bar of thermoplastic material is placed in a shaping mould. Pressure and heat is applied to one outer surface of the object in order to impart the desired shape to the object and simultaneously at least some part of the other surfaces of the object are cooled.
