A method of mounting an article onto a receiving surface comprises the steps of manually introducing onto a receiving surface an article having an adhesive mounting means, such that the adhesive mounting means temporarily retains the article on the receiving surface; releasing the article such that the article remains in place on the receiving surface; and, fastening the article onto the receiving surface by means of at least one threaded fastener. Further, an apparatus for mounting an article onto a receiving surface comprises an adhesive mounting means secured to the article, for temporarily retaining the article on a receiving surface. There is at least one threaded fastener for fastening the article onto the receiving surface.
