ABSTRACT In a method of producing wired electrical connectors, wires are inserted into slotted plate terminals of miniature connectors at wire insertion stations. In order to avoid the overcrowding of wire insertion tooling at the insertion stations, each connector is advanced sequentially through the stations at each of which only some of the terminals thereof are wired, the terminals wired at each station being separated by at least one other terminal of the connector. Apparatus for carrying out the method comprises sliding shuttles in which the connectors are intermittently advanced through the stations.
