A B S T R A C T A hollow body, a rotor, with holes in the bottom and the side wall, is immersed in a liquid and caused to rotate by a shaft suspended over the liquid. The liquid, entering the rotor through a hole in the bottom, acquires a surface of a paraboloid of revolution by centripetal force. The centripetal force throws liquid out through holes in the side wall, whilst new liquid continuously enters through the bottom of the rotor. The shaft for the rotor can be hollow, and gas, solids or liquid materials can be added to the liquid through it. The disclosure allows the treatment of different types of liquid, from aqueous suspensions to molten metal in various ways.
