ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An arrangement for and method of generating hydrogen wherein hydrogen and hydroxide are generated by reacting hydrogen hydride with water. The hydrogen hydride is generated by subjecting hydroride to cryo- genic temperature and subatmospheric pressure condi- tions. This cycle is repeated with the resulting liberation of hydrogen. The hydroride is produced initially and as needed by subjecting water to the action of light photons.
