ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A shaped body is produced by filling of a fluid and non- swelling mixture of fibers with a heat-hardenable binding medium into a filling space of a lower part of a pressing tool with at least one step provided on the bottom of the lower part so as to narrow the filling space in this region, and lowering an upper part of the pressing tool substantially into the lower part so as to compress the mixture and simultaneously harden it under the action of heat.
