Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to the sphere of electronic retouching technology and provides a method of and a circuit arrangement for partial elec- tronic retouching in colour picture reproduction. The colour values of the individual colour components, which are obtained by image-dot-by-image dot and trichromatic colour picture scanning, are stored in a storage medium. A colour increment unaffected by location, which in each case represents the minimum modificatory quantity for the colour values, in deter- mined for each colour component which is to be retouched. A location-dependent retouching factor which indicates the retouching intensity as the number of the colour increments which are to be added or subtracted per image dot, is determined for each image dot which is to be retouched, which is marked by the operator by means of a co-ordinate stylus. Location-dependent corrective values are calculated image-dot-by-image dot for the stored colour values, from the colour increments and the retouching factors. The unretouched or retouched colour picture is illustrated on a colour monitor for the purpose of visual checking.
