ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of grinding pairs of spiral or curved tooth gear wheels is proposed wherein the teeth of one of the mating gears are formed by grinding the opposed flanks of a gap between successive teeth in one operation by a tool having outwardly facing grinding flanks, whilst the teeth of the other mating gear are formed by grinding the opposed flanks of a given tooth in one operation by a tool having inwardly facing grinding flanks.
