A system (12) for conducting a telephonic speech recognition application includes an automated telephone device (14) for making telephonic contact with a respondent and a speech recognition device (16) which, upon the telephonic contact (18) being made, presents the respondent with at least one introductory prompt for the respondent to reply to; receives a spoken response from the respondent; and performs a speech recognition analysis on the spoken response to determine a capability of the respondent to complete the application. If the speech recognition device, based on the spoken response to the introductory prompt, determines that the respondent is capable of competing the application, the speech recognition device presents at least one application prompt to the respondent. If the speech recognition device, based on the spoken response to the introductory prompt, determines that the respondent is not capable of completing the application, the speech recognition system presents instructions on completing the application to the respondent.
Un système (12) d'exploitation d'une application de reconnaissance vocale téléphonique comporte un dispositif téléphonique automatisé (14) pour effectuer une liaison téléphonique avec un récepteur et un dispositif de reconnaissance vocale (16) qui, lors de la liaison téléphonique (18), présente au récepteur au moins un message-guide préliminaire auquel le récepteur doit répondre; reçoit une réponse parlée à partir du récepteur; et effectue une analyse de reconnaissance vocale sur la réponse parlée en vue de déterminer une capacité du récepteur de compléter l'application. Si le dispositif de reconnaissance vocale, en fonction de la réponse parlée au message-guide préliminaire, détermine que le récepteur est capable de compléter l'application, le dispositif de reconnaissance vocale présente au moins une message-guide d'application au récepteur. Si le dispositif de reconnaissance vocale, en fonction de la réponse parlée au message-guide préliminaire, détermine que le récepteur n'est pas capable de compléter l'application, le système de reconnaissance vocale présente des instructions concernant la mise en oeuvre de l'application au récepteur.
